Thanks for stopping by Woman in Charge! You’ll find easy to read and carry out tips to take charge of your life. Around here, it’s all about doing things the easiest and best way while taking as little time as possible to do them. 🙂 Ain’t no one got time for fancy schmancy schedules and routines!
So who is this for anyways?
So glad you asked! Woman in Charge is for busy moms who feel like they’re about to rip their hair out because everything is chaotic. I’m dedicated to helping busy moms (though dads are welcome too 😉 ). Is that you? Do you fee like life is running you instead of you running it? Man, do I understand! You will find tons of easy how-to tutorials, tips, simple courses, and tons of support (join the Facebook group Women in Charge to find mamas like you). I totally get that out of control feeling. I’ve been there! I’m constantly learning more and tweaking my systems. Life changes. Systems to deal with it have to change sometimes too.
Who’s it NOT for?
Well, this isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes commitment and hard work to take control of your life. It’s not for those who already have everything under control, though I dare say you might find some tips you could use. Woman in Charge is not for those who are going to make excuses and say that they can’t take control of their life because they’re too busy. I say, what’s more important to you? A busy life or living a life you love?
Who the heck are you?
I’m Melissa Mendez. Like I mentioned, I’m a mom of three, been married to my best friend for ten years. My husband is stuck in Mexico so I’m doing it all. Raising the kids, earning the money, paying the bills, shopping, cleaning, everything. It’s been vital to have the right systems in place to deal with everything. Believe me, at first I was so overwhelmed and scared that I’d bawl at the mere thought of my situation. Now it’s my new normal. Hubs and I talk almost every single night. He’s looking forward to being back here with his wifey and offspring and we’re looking forward to having him back!
I was born in Michigan and my parents transplanted me to the South when I was 10. We lived there for over a decade. I’m back in my birth state though the South has left it’s mark on me (I refuse to call soda ‘pop’ and still say y’all and fixin’ to). I love animated movies and Dr Who. I listen to everything from Christian to oldies to metal while cleaning and working. I sing and dance along to the music with great enthusiasm though not much skill. I love all the colors of the rainbow. Oh and here’s a fun fact. I’m 6′ tall while my husband is only 5’3″. Yeah, we get odd looks and he took forever to feel comfortable holding hands with me in public. 😀 Being tall is a curse, I tell you. It’s hard to find shirts and pants long enough in the sleeves and legs. And I’m scrawny too, so that really doesn’t help.
